Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed Japanese green tea leaves.
The green tea plants used for matcha are shade-grown for three to four weeks before harvest and the stems and veins are removed during processing.
During shaded growth, the green tea plant produces more theanine and caffeine giving it it's characteristic flavor.
This matcha is one that you can drink over and over again either on it's own or with your favorite Japanese sweets or desserts.
While you can get all the special accessories traditionally used to make matcha (for example during a traditional tea ceremony.)
You don't need them.
Simply use what you have if you wish.
And after adding a little bit of hot water and stirring with a whisk, frother or even a blender, you'll soon enjoy the same flavor and aroma you'd get like you were drinking matcha in Japan.

I appreciate the depth of flavor in this matcha powder. It has a subtle earthiness without being overpowering. It certainly doesn’t taste cheap.

If you’re curious about the price, ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality and typically enjoyed on its own in tea ceremonies. It’s not ideal for lattes or milk-based drinks because its delicate flavor can be overwhelmed. While the price is higher due to its premium quality, it’s worth it for those who appreciate its pure taste and subtle sweetness. This ceremonial grade matcha is a vibrant green and tastes exactly as you’d expect.

Diving into this ceremonial-grade matcha was a truly rewarding experience. From the moment I opened the package, the rich aroma promised a high-quality tea. The vibrant green hue confirmed its premium quality, setting the stage for a delightful tea experience.
The matcha’s flavor profile is smooth, earthy, and subtly sweet, with a velvety texture that’s both satisfying and calming. It provides a balanced energy boost without any jitters. The fine consistency makes it easy to mix into hot water or oat milk, and its versatility allows for traditional tea, modern lattes, or even culinary creations.
While the price point reflects its ceremonial-grade status, it’s a worthwhile investment for those who appreciate quality. The sample size is perfect for experiencing this luxury without committing to a large purchase.
Overall, this matcha offers a perfect blend of tradition, taste, and tranquility. It’s a must-try for both matcha enthusiasts and newcomers, inviting you to savor the depth of flavor that only true ceremonial matcha can provide.

This was my first experience with true ceremonial matcha. Having previously tried matcha at a NYC coffee shop, I can now truly appreciate the significant difference between ceremonial grade and the matcha used in popular coffee shops. I’ll never go back! Despite the higher price tag, you only need a small amount of powder per drink, making it a worthwhile investment.
Upon opening the package, I was immediately captivated by the rich, delicious aroma. The powder mixed effortlessly with hot water, dissolving completely without any lumps. I added oat milk and vanilla bean syrup, and the result was amazing! The matcha had a sweet umami flavor with no grassy aftertaste, a stark contrast to the matcha lattes I’ve had at popular coffee shops. I’m incredibly pleased with this matcha!

Kagoshima Organic Ceremonial Matcha comes in a simple, resealable foil bag. While there’s minimal information on the package, you can find more details on their website. The matcha itself is exceptionally smooth and has a deep, inviting green color. Using a matcha whisk to stir the tea is highly recommended as the powder tends to settle. It’s a truly excellent matcha that evokes fond memories of a Kyoto tea ceremony.
While a bit pricey, the cost is in line with other ceremonial-grade matcha teas.

I tried Kagoshima’s Finest Organic Ceremonial Matcha and found it quite enjoyable. The charming packaging makes it a great gift option. The matcha itself offers an authentic Japanese taste, though it wasn’t mind-blowing. While it’s a bit pricey, its quality and giftability make it worth considering. A solid choice for matcha enthusiasts.

This was my first venture into matcha and it won’t be the last. The bright green color of the tea powder was unexpected and impressive. The flavor is unique compared to traditional green teas, which is a pleasant surprise.
No tea bag or ball is needed; the powder dissolves directly into hot water with a little whisking. A small amount goes a long way. I added 1/4 teaspoon to 8 ounces of water. The package may seem small, but the powder is very dense, similar to flour in consistency.

I’ve tried other Japanese ceremonial matcha brands, but I prefer this one’s resealable aluminum-lined bag over tin packaging.
While the price is similar to other Japanese ceremonial matchas, it’s significantly more expensive than alternatives that aren’t sourced from Japan. However, the quality and taste justify the price difference.
I haven’t had enough experience with matcha from different Japanese provinces to discern the specific qualities of Kagoshima matcha, but I found it to be fragrant, refreshing, and flavorful.
This brand seems ideal for tea enthusiasts who want to explore the nuances of different Japanese matcha varieties.

I wanted Kagoshima’s Finest Organic Ceremonial Matcha because I was out of ceremonial matcha and always like to try new things. The matcha smelled fresh and was a deep green so looked and smelled like good quality matcha. I prepared the matcha thin with 175F water. I found only a slight bitterness to the matcha but overall it had some sweetness and was very enjoyable.

This is a very strong matcha powder. It works great in my DIY cooking and baking, especially for matcha cakes and drinks. It’s also a delicious tea on its own.

I wasn’t expecting much from this inexpensive travel-size pouch, but I was pleasantly surprised by its delicious, robust flavor and deep color. It blends well, just as you’d expect from ceremonial-grade matcha. I ended up ordering a larger size and now enjoy it every morning.
