While the 3.5oz pouch of Hojicha Powder is a bit pricey at $39.99, the quality justifies the cost. Finding good quality Hojicha powder can be challenging. This one has an amazing smell and taste. I use it for evening lattes, and it's a delightful treat after a long day. The flavor is smooth with nutty undertones and a hint of chocolate and caramel. No sweetener is needed, it's delicious as is

As this was my first experience with roasted green tea powder, I had nothing to compare it to. Initially, the powder had a slight kelp-like smell, but a deeper sniff revealed a hint of green tea or grass. It's finely ground and has a golden-brown color. The taste was slightly sweet and grassy, but I didn't detect any caramel notes. While the quality seems high, brewing instructions would have been helpful, especially for those new to hojicha. I recommend this product to those familiar with hojicha and know how to prepare it.

As someone familiar with matcha, I was eager to try hojicha for the first time. This sample size powder provided a great introduction. Unlike matcha, hojicha is roasted, giving it a distinct smoky aroma and a cocoa-like flavor with subtle sweet and bitter notes. I enjoyed the smooth taste and texture.

The best tasting top quality green tea ‼️ Since my subscription, green tea, was cancelled, I have been unable to find a replacement green tea. This "Kabusecha" is delicious ‼️. I would like to subscribe this loose leaf green tea.

We enjoy a wide variety of teas. Although neither my wife or I typically like green tea due to its often "grassy" taste. However, we both liked this tea quite well. It was not "grassy" at all and was very light on the palette. The sample 10g bag made a few cups for both of us. The bag is well made and well sealed to maintain the freshness of tea.

This tea has a smooth and pleasant taste. It really is a cut above the average store bought green tea. The roasting brings a nice mellowness to the flavor and it brews cleanly. Great for tea lovers.

This was my first experience with bancha tea. Compared to regular green tea, it's lighter and more refreshing. While it has a mild bitterness, the overall taste is milder. The trial-size bag is perfect for sampling and can yield around 3-4 cups or one pot. It's a great way to try bancha tea before committing to a larger quantity.

This ceremonial grade matcha offers a good flavor and a very nice color. The small amount in the pack is somewhat expected given its quality. This matcha is best saved for drinking rather than baking, for which you can use a cheaper alternative.

Just excellent. Very satisfying. Well done, Miyazaki tea growers! Thank you!! The variety of flavors in the tea makes it noteworthy: roasty and toastiness of the leaves & stems, winning combo and just right; the aroma is like chocolate, sweet nut & fruit, smokey but the flavor is a toasty plant/green nuttiness and backdrop hint of sweet nut/fruit, if that makes sense. When I used less leaves for a lighter cup, I tasted a slight lingering flavor of lychee-like fruitiness. Really satisfying and enjoyable drinking. Especially appreciate that it has just the right amount of caffeine for me as a “lightweight.” I can drink a robust cup on an empty stomach and gives me a slight wake-up without “rattling.” And in colder months, I want something roasty in the morning instead of sencha, which is a more “cooling” tea.

This small bag of hojicha may seem expensive, but the high quality justifies the price. It's significantly better than cheaper Japanese options, offering a smooth, complex roasted flavor profile. A short steeping time of half a minute is ideal. Steeping for a minute can be too long. Unlike cheaper teas that degrade quickly, this hojicha can be steeped multiple times, each offering a unique flavor. It's a worthwhile investment over cheaper, lower-quality options.

We recently tried this tea during a road trip and were pleasantly surprised by its delicate smoky flavor. It's a refreshing change from stronger teas like Lipton, especially when staying in hotels. We enjoyed it a lot.

This Okumidori matcha is delicious and refreshing. The powder is bright green and whisks up super smooth. It has a rich flavor with a mild sweetness to it, and is not bitter. I used it to make a latte and it was tasty and flavorful. This comes in a little resealable pouch, making it great for travel. It's certified organic and packaged in Japan. Overall, it's a great, ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha. I really enjoyed it.

This is a delicious ceremonial matcha. It whisks up well and tastes very rich and good. It also seems to be quite fresh, making a lovely cup. I appreciate that this is certified USDA organic and has a best before date of 08/31/2025 (which is 5 months out from the current date). It's a very tasty matcha that I can surely recommend.
